January 2011: Finished with 5.5/9 in the 2010/11 Hastings Masters

October 2010: Played for Pride & Prejudice in the 4NCL Rapidplay Championships and the team came 3rd. I then won the Individual Championship ahead of GM Keith Arkell in 2nd and GM Mark Hebden in 3rd= Report available at: http://www.4ncl.co.uk/report_rapidplay2010.htm

23rd January-1st February. I achieved my first GM (Grandmaster) norm in the Gibtelecom Masters in Gibraltar. My final score of 6.5/9 was enough for a share of 5th= with players like Michael Adams (world number 9) and Ivan Sokolov. 28th December-5th January 07. I played in the Masters section of the Hastings International, and finished in 9th= with 6/9 including a draw against the former World U18 champion and a last round win over England’s top active female player.

I am now working towards the British Championships, which takes place this August.

9th-20th September. I was one of four coaches with the England Team at the European Youth Championships in Montenegro. Read the official team reports with photos here:

23rd July 2006. The day after returning from South Africa I flew out to Switzerland to take part in the Open section of the Swiss National Championships. I won the tournament with 7/9, ahead of 1 Grandmaster and several other IMs. This is probably my best result ever in an open tournament.

More good news whilst in South Africa; I have accepted a coaching position with the England team at the European Youth Festival in September.

27th June 2006. I fly out to my first tournament as an IM, and my first tournament in Africa when I play the South African Open in Port Elizabeth. I achieve 3rd place in a field of 160. Results and photos can be found at: www.chessa.co.za/tours/resnews/2006/saopen06/saopen06.html

21st June 2006. My IM title is officially ratified at the 76th FIDE congress in Turin.

1st May, 2005 - Just got back from Halkadiki, Greece where I coached some English juniors and played in the 2nd Porto Carras International Open where I scored 5½/9. For details check out www.chess.gr/tourn/2005/GamesFestival05/up.html
